These two wire hard start devices are patented, UL/CSA & CE recognized and are approved by major compressor and equipment manufacturers for permanent installation.

Kickstart® hard starts are the only pre-assembled, 2-wire, easy-to-install starting devices that utilize the superior sensing capability of an electro-mechanical potential relay in combination with a start capacitor. These devices work on all 1 – 5 HP single-phase 208V, 230V, 265V air conditioning, heat pump, and refrigeration compressors – reciprocating, scroll and rotary.

Kickstart® Hard Start Kits extend the life of the compressor and provide energy savings at compressor start up by brining the compressor up to rated speed ten times faster than normal. This more efficient start up time reduces (if not eliminates) the “light flickering” which is common when the compressor is energized. As the demand for higher SEER unit’s grows so does the need for a more efficient means to starting the compressor. Kickstart® Hard Starts provide that solution in a simple and complete package. Three standard hard start kits are available that are capable of replacing all combinations of relay & start capacitors used by manufacturers today. These universal kits enable an equipment manufacturer to reduce the various part combinations they need to stock (relays and capacitors) and provides the flexibility desired in resource planning.
